Garden Works BPS Bypass Pruner at $19.95, has a carbon steel blade for lasting sharpness and was made for right hand use.
The Cutting Guide below gives advice on the correct gardening tool for each job:
Scissor Action – Where two blades meet. This method is most suitable for thin or very green growth.
Bypass Action – Where the blade ‘bypasses’ the cutting block or anvil. This action produces the cleanest and hence healthiest cut and is recommended for all pruning of live stems up to about 1 inch diameter.
Anvil Action – Where the blade cuts down onto the cutting block. This method is more powerful but as it causes some crushing of the stem it is not recommended for young live stems. For old / dead wood which tends to harden up and require much more effort to cut, this is the best tool.
Features:
- Cast alloy bypass pruner
- Carbon steel blades
- Robust handles, covered in a comfortable, bright Terracotta grip for maximum visibility in the garden
- Rubber cushion stops prevent jarring
- For right hand use
